Most Valuable Brands
As of today, the global economic downturn has had considerable impacts on the world's economy. No one is to be blamed. It is a bitter pill for everyone to swallow, including some of the most valuable consumer brand names such as Coca-cola, IBM, Microsoft, etc. To measure the decreases or increases of the value of the world most well-know brands is no easy task; however, according to McGregory, a BBC correspondent, every year a marketing consultancy INTERBRAND has a go. In INTERBRAND's recent report, Coca-cola stand at the number 1 spot with $64 bn worth, which is a couple of billion dollars less than in the last 12 months. Furthermore, in the automobile industry, car companies such as BMW and TOYOTA have seen unusual declines in the value of their brands. Experts believe that these declines are mainly due to the fact that customers value expensive things during hard times. However, according to the recent survey, the world's five most famous brands remain unchanged; they are: Coca-cola, IBM, Microsoft, General Electric, and Nokia.
